Are you all there in the head, larry was one of the greatest trash talkers in the history of the game. and how is he lucky to be drafted to celtics, the celtics were 29-53 before larry and when larry was drafted he improved the team to a 61-21 record.

Jimmer was a great shooter but he only shot 45% vs Bird’s 53%. And Bird averaged 30 pts a game without a three point line. I believe this list was made before Jimmer played - would be interesting to see where he would be placed!

And “soft”. Ha. Hardly. Age maybe made him soft now, but watch replays. The man was running and diving everywhere both on offense and defense. If anything was soft about him, it was his touch. So many times he could get and off-shot to dance around the rim until it fell in. Not many others could do that, perhaps a Maravich-ism because Pistol Pete also had that same soft touch. He also didn’t take shit, either. You get rough with him, he’ll dish it right back, but MUCH rougher.

Please tell me how Bird was “lucky”. He always states he never had the jumping ability, nor the speed like other players. He just thought the game out and made moves others wouldn’t instinctively make, like running a backdoor cut on a free throw to better clear out for a rebound, or draw the defense to you on a fake, then pass it to an open player closer to the basket.
