If your car is damaged by a tree falling will your insurance go up?

I know that ina wreck if it is your fault your insurance goes up and if its the other person’s fault it doesn’t…what if a tree limb falls on your car in your own driveway, will it go up? and will the car insurance be used or the homeowners insurance?

Of course it will go up.
Your vehicle suffered damage.
Which means it was at more risk than other vehicles which did NOT have a tree fall on them.
It sounds ridiculous, at first glance, but think about it. Let’s say you get in 10 accidents in a year, none of which are your fault.
You’re still costing the insurance company a ton of money, right?
And that makes your premium go up.
Basically, it’s not hard to figure out. Anything that costs THEM, will cost YOU.

my insurance doubled this year for no reason, I have a perfect record, a claim is just that part of your insurance record, I would expect it to go up just based on what mine did for no reason. best of luck, tell friends and family insurance companies have lost thier frigging minds.and its going to get a lot worse.

No. The falling tree limb would be covered under your comprehensive coverage and comp claims are not surchargable
