What are the problems of “working under the table”???

May 18, 2013 in Insurance jobs and educations

I have a Caucasian U.S. born friend who is working a skilled trade “under the table”. His Boss often does not pay him. My friend and his girlfriend are homeless. When he does get some cash for the work he performs, it’s not the full pay. Sometimes they are lucky enough to stay at a motel a few nights. My friend also owes Child Support and is afraid if working a regular job, half his pay-check will be “taken away” and he will be homeless anyway! WHAT SHOULD HE DO?

Is social working a good career choice?

May 17, 2013 in Insurance jobs and educations

I’m majoring in social working but I’m having some doubts. I don’t know how much the salary is because I get all different answers when I try looking it up. Is there anyone that is a social worker or knows the profession well enough to explain the pros & cons to me? I just wanted to know about the different areas I can specialize in and the difference in salary and fields of social working with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree. If anyone could please just explain these few things to me I’d appreciate it greatly! thank you!

Why are private insurance companies working so hard to sabotage health care reform?

May 16, 2013 in Health insurance

You have to ask why are private insurance companies spending millions to lobby against passing reforms including the “public option”?

The insurance companies are fighting pretty hard to stop health care reform so it must be because the changes would lower their profits and benefit all of us.
I doubt that insurance companies will go out of business because a small percent of households qualify for government health plan. According to some sources only 10 million would actually enroll in a public plan. Those insurers you are worried about have other subsidiaries and interests and are not only in health insurance. You should be more concerned about your countrymen than the profits of an insurance conglomerate

Does anyone have a really cool job working in the health care industry?

May 11, 2013 in Health insurance

I’m trying to decide which direction to follow in the health care field. I love helping people both physically and spiritually but I have a bit of a back problem so I am leaning more towards something less physical. I don’t like dealing with insurance companies and billing departments. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am a fun, nurturing person with a lot to offer, I just need a push in the right direction, thanks!

Are daycare prices worth it or does it make sense to quit working?

May 9, 2013 in Insurance jobs and educations

I plan to be a SAHM and seeing daycare costs makes me think it’s not worth working.

The daycare I would send my child to costs $680/month for one child and this is middle range price where I live. We plan to have another baby soon, so my daycare bill would be $1200-1400/month for two children.

I make $30,000/year, if I had two children I would pay $14,500 to $17,000 a year in daycare!

How can people afford daycare for more than one child? How do you afford it or did you stay at home because it was cheaper?

My EnV isn’t working. :(?

April 3, 2013 in General

Well, I have an old Env its the first one. For some odd reason it will not work. I’ve had it only since March 2009, But I did get it from a friend that used it for um a year? The charger outlet has always been a little lose since I have reseved it from here. Well now! It wont charge. :( All it is is lose. I want to know if maybe a verizon store could fix it? I don’t have anytime of esurance on it. So would verizon fix it or replace it anyway?

Hospitality Industry Legal Risks: Restaurant Franchisee Settles EEOC “Sexual Harassment And Retaliation Lawsuit” For $2.5 Million; Managers Made Working Conditions Intolerable

January 12, 2013 in General

The EEOC’s suit charged that Carrols subjected a class of women – including many teenagers – to egregious sexual harassment at Burger King locations throughout the Midwest, Southeast, and Northeast. EEOC alleged that the harassment, which ranged from obscene comments, jokes, and propositions to unwanted touching, EEOCexposure of genitalia, strip searches, stalking, and even rape, was perpetrated by managers in the majority of cases. According to the EEOC, Carrols also retaliated against some of the women by cutting their hours, manufacturing discipline against them, and even firing them, while it forced more women to quit because the harassment made their working conditions intolerable.

Does anyone have any experience working for Primerica in the Oklahoma City area?

January 6, 2013 in Insurance jobs and educations

I’m considering a job there and would like to know more. Oh course, the people who want me to work there will say its a great oppurtunity.
Anyone else work for them? Know anyone who does?
I’m supposed to go to another interview tonight. I will keep an open mind and will decide if its best for me.
I still would like more opinoins and experiences with Primerica.
