About 3 years ago I got into a small accident in a parking lot. A police report was filed and she made an insurance claim (totally illegitimately though). The accident is not on my driving record and I don’t even remember the date it happened anymore. Should I include this on an insurance quote, or should I leave it off with the chances they won’t dig it up. I can’t really provide them accurate information as to when it was.

I hit a concrete dumpster enclosure. No damage to concrete, but one estimate put the damage to my car at $1700. My deductible is $500. Can I call my insurance company and talk about whether or not I should claim it? Will my premiums go up significantly?

My carport took off during huricane Gustave and hit the bottom left side of our neigbors house doing little damage. This was told to me yesterday 11/7/08 my neigbor and said he was claiming it on my insurance!

Last year I got a parking ticket, no insurance ticket, and no license ticket in one go, I had a legal driving permit at the time. I went to the courthouse with my proof of insurance, and my permit, to prove I was a legal driver. The bailiff refused to accept my warrant to show to the judge and the judge refused to deal with any of the tickets until I had a valid Drivers license. He requested I take the road test, get my license and come back. He extended my court date for 2 weeks, during those two weeks I tried to find a car to take the test in but couldn’t. I told him this and he extended it again. After returning with no license he said I had one more chance but by that time I was living over two hours away from the town I got the ticket in, I was watching my child full time and was not in contact with any family or friends. I didn’t have the money to pay the fines because I was supporting my child with all my money.

We were paying for health insurance (blue cross & blue shield CareFirst PPO) through my husband’s job every two weeks for over a year until he quit on August 26th. But every time he or my son went to the doctor, they were coming back as ineligible. Upon calling the insurance company, I found out that no one on our policy had been eligible since March of 2008! This is also the time that his company went through an HR problem where they had no HR dept. at all for quite a few months. The lady at the insurance company said that someone from his job had gone in and adjusted our policy on September 3rd so that it shows no lapse in coverage. There should BE no policy; my husband quit on August 26th. The lady also said the policy is still active and covering our family. If someone went in and adjusted the policy, why didn’t they put the termination in?? We would like to get back the money paid into this since March, which is about $1200.00. The lady from the insurance company said that since the adjustment was made, all the denied claims will be paid. We would rather have the money and pay the bills off a little at a time, since the reason he quit is that we got evicted because the company cut everyone’s hours so badly and we have NO money. Is there a scenario where we can still get the money and was this legal of them in the first place?

I look around at my life, my family, my friends and my country and notice [more and more] that there is something terribly wrong with this county, the politics involved and the way that some are being dictated to live their life. This blog post will probably offend people [consider this your forewarning] and although I am aware of this, I feel that people should take a good, long and hard look and stop making excuses. I will share some background information with you [the reader] so that you can understand some of where I am coming from.

I have a bachelors in Psychology, and a Series 7 & 63 license (that’s stockbroker licenses). I want a REAL job – I feel like I’m still a kid. I’m almost 30 and I feel like I don’t have a REAL job. I want health insurance, and retirement, and security. I want a 9-5…or any other hours with definite quitting time. I want 40K a year. I want something where I work hard but the work isn’t back breaking or has deadlines or too much stress. I want something where I come in, do my job, and go home. I want some excitement. I want some danger, something important, something rescue related maybe. And I want to get OUT of New York. I’m not excited about my job or my life anymore. I want a job where I describe it to someone and they say “That’s AWESOME!” I want security. Something not too tedious. Maybe like changing the light-bulbs on radio towers etc.
Someone tell me – what should I do, and what CAN I do?
If I could teach hang-gliding, or scuba, or skiing, or be a guide for hiking or biking AND make decent MONEY doing it, I’d be off like a shot!
Seriously – ANYTHING! ANY ideas will do.

What kind of job would you recommend for me? Experience: restaurant management and insurance sales, BS in Soc?
Please help! I know this is so random, but I thought maybe strangers could help me think outside of the box.
I would appreciate a suggestion on either an entry level job to start with or a career to work towards.
My experience is mostly in restaurant management and insurance sales and I DO NOT WANT to work in those fields. I currently work at a weight loss center as a speaker. I love that, but it doesn’t pay too much.
