“How Much Should You Charge for a Security Deposit?”

February 4, 2014 in General

A security deposit is a sum of money paid by a tenant to ensure they fulfill the terms of their lease. Remember though – this is a deposit, not a fee. This money should be held in separate bank account and returned to the tenant when the tenant moves out, less any damages that need to be repaired.

The amount you charge is largely up to you, though many states restrict the amount you can charge, so make sure to check to find any local limitations. I typically charge the equivalent of one-month’s rent for a security deposit, though I may charge more than that if the tenant has anything in their background that worries me (which we’ll get to in a short while.)

Liability Insurance – How much is enough?

December 16, 2013 in General

One of my favorite scenes (which I couldn’t find) from the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-air’ is when Will gets into a car accident with Theo (from the Cosby show). A mad Theo gets out of his car and asks Will what the name of his insurance company is.  Will gets in Theo’s face and responds with yo’ fault!……….I ain’t got none and I don’t need none, cause its yo’ fault!

How much do you know about health insurance?

Hello to everyone reading this blog.  I’m starting a blog to share my knowledge and experiences of assisting patients/clients and their support systems to navigate the maze of health insurance and health delivery systems.  Long ago, I discovered most people do not know and/or understand their insurance coverage, levels of care and community resources or the importance of a strong support system.  That’s to say nothing of their lack of understanding on body functions, disease processes or that adherence to “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.  During difficult times people discover their true friends.  And in times of vulnerability, you learn just how strong your support system is.

The issue of health care is generally not as much of a priority to the youth as it is to older people?

July 26, 2013 in Health insurance

The older you are, the more difficult it is to get insurance and you need it even more. When I was young and had no assets to protect and no children to take to the doctor, I didn’t really think too much about health care. Does anyone else see this trend?
???Medicare? You have to be 65 to get that IF you live that long. People even put off retirement all for this reason.
darrin-I agree it is or will eventually be important to everybody. It’s something everybody needs.

Can anybody tell me how much % for all health care in the USA comes from taxpayers money?

July 19, 2013 in Health insurance

Some people pay there own health insurance, some have no insurance and may have to pay there own bills or get no health care instead, some have health insurance form there job. Many have large co-payments.Than how many people (working or never worked) get there health care provided to them at the expense off others(tax payers),would it not make make more sense if all health care for all people came out off one pool of funding with private health care as an option for those who wish to do so.

How much are attorneys to blame for our health care “crisis”?

June 25, 2013 in Health insurance

Everyone is arguing over whether we should or should not have universal health care. The one thing that’s forgotten about in this heated debate is the question of just how much are ambulance chasers and malpractice attorneys to blame? Has their greed driven malpractice insurance rates to unsustainable levels? How much do you think this factors in? Thanks.

Calculating How Much You Lose From Your Mis Sold PPI

June 7, 2013 in General

PPI or payment protection insurance protects you from late paying your loans, mortgages and credit cards because of a sudden illness or when you get unemployed. It may sound advantageous, but if your bank sold it to you and you were not eligible for its requirements, then you deserve to get your money back. Getting complete compensation means calculating how much you lose through the following methods.

1. Repayment Amount
Payment protection insurance takes on many names such as credit payment security or loan payment security, but the bottom line is that most PPI charges you at least 15-30% of the amount you repay on a monthly basis. The cost depends on the insurance’s provisions and the insurer’s liabilities.

How much would it cost our government to guarantee health insurance to all citizens?

May 15, 2013 in Health insurance

This is for a debate and would help a lot. Does anybody know the relative cost of universal health care for America and how much we are currently spending on health care? Thanks.
