Why dont liberals want to give the free market a chance to fix health care?

April 2, 2013 in Health insurance

Why do liberals strike down ideas of removing regulations that prevent competition of cross state selling of insurance. This would surely spur a market for individual health care plans that are not tied to the employer. This would be a simple and easy thing to correct if it didnt work out why don’t liberals ever give the market a chance?

With 3Let you will receive a guaranteed rental income for as long as your property is without a tenant on our property management scheme. The Help to Buy scheme will help potential property buyers purchase homes, creating movement in the market. Summary: Rent Guarantee and Legal Expenses Insurance The Help to Buy scheme is ‘good for the property market in the UK’ 33% of people plan to buy a home in the next five years This initiative will help them by not having to raise a hefty deposit The government’s attempts of helping potential property buyers move up the housing ladder will get the UK’s property market moving. This is according to Post Office Mortgages, which made the comment following the announcement of the Help to Buy initiative in last week’s Budget 2013. Rent Guarantee and Legal Expenses Insurance Director of Financial Services at Post Office Nick Kennett said it is “just what is needed to get the country moving”. Rent Guarantee and Legal Expenses Insurance The Help to Buy scheme works by providing buyers with a loan worth 20% of the value of the new build property they are interested in purchasing, which is interest-free for the first five years. They then only have to provide a 5% deposit in order to buy the home, with this initiative due to begin on Monday (April 1st). Mr Kennett said Post Office research shows 33% of people are planning to buy somewhere to live in the next five years, but they will find it very difficult to raise a down payment for this investment. “This move from the government to increase the access for potential homeowners to get on the property ladder provides a much needed boost to the housing market,” he went on to say. Why do video games cost so much to develop, release, sell, market, etc?

March 5, 2013 in Insurance jobs and educations

Lately, I have been curious as to why video games cost so much money while in developmental stages, marketing for them, and whatnot. I understand it is not necessarily “free” to market games, but I dont get it when people say stuff like “modeling and texturing characters can sometimes be really expensive”. How? The only thing I can see costing them money is to buy programs for it, and pay people and groups to do so. Is that it? What makes a game cost $20Mil – $100MIL to put through all its stages? I could do half the stuff these developers do (not saying im on any super high game creation level) by myself, for free or very inexpensively (using programs like Unity, Maya, CInema 4d, Gimp, Photoshop, etc. Not exactly in the millions, are we?). So tell me, why does developing a game cost so much?

Petruccelli L.T.D. asks; How does the health insurance market work? (42)

December 20, 2012 in General

Petruccelli L.T.D. says;  Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO) plans are another form of managed care. Typically a network of providers forms a PPO, but a health insurer will sometimes establish its own PPO. More often, PPO networks form and contract with multiple insurers to provide services for discounted fees. Like HMOs, PPO plans have contractual agreements with doctors and other providers. If a consumer goes to one of these preferred providers, they pay less out of their pocket than if they use a provider who is not in the network. For example, a consumer may only pay a $20 co-payment for visits to PPO doctors, but out-of-network services might be subject to a $500 deductible and 30 percent co-insurance. PPO plans also may require consumers to choose a PCP and to obtain permission (or referral) from that PCP to see a specialist or receive other expensive health care services, whether in or out of the plan network.
