July 12, 2014 in General

Legal Disclaimer: I’m not a health care expert, but I am changing jobs and did a fair bit of research to figure out how switching jobs will impact my insurance and liability under the Affordable Care Act.  I thought I would share, since finding this information was not as straightforward as I had hoped. MAY 2, 2014 – Over the years, we’ve surveyed, polled and interviewed hundreds of concierge and retail-type doctors in this industry and asked them if they still participate in insurance. What we found was, ‘Yes!’ Approximately 70-80% of physicians and medical offices in this industry still participate in ‘some’ payor and insurance contracts. But the reality is that most doctors who practice traditional medicine in our current third-party payer system have a glaringly obvious conflict of interest.
