With the introduction of public health care? I thought that if a nation got public health care it would drive the private sector out of business, but this does not appear to be the case as those nations have a viable private sector to complement the public sector and private health insurance, particularly from what I have seen of BUPA in Ireland, is more affordable than many of the policies I have seen for individuals in the USA.
PZNBOB,
Explain to me how Ireland is “going to hell in a handbasket.” Yes, Ireland is in recession right now and unemployment is up to 13.9% at the moment, however, Ireland is still ranked consistently high in all surveys regarding quality of life. Look them up as they are on the Internet. As for FOX News, it’s one of many news sources. I am fluent in other languages, so I can get my news from far more sources than a lot of people. For example, as I speak French I can get news from Canada, Haiti, France and much of Africa; being fluent in Spanish, I have Spain and all of Latin America; having studied Portuguese, I can make my way through newspapers from Angola, Mozambique, Brazil, Portugal, Macau, Goa, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Sao Tome & Principe and East Timor. It lifts me from the restraints in regards to domestic media. When I want conservative news, I go to intelligent sources, e.g., National Review, The American Spectator, The American Conservative, not its dumbest.
