Can the insurance cover an accident if it was canceled a week after the accident?

April 6, 2013 in General

So someone rearended my husband on Wednesday. We have insurance, not good coverage. but still legally covered. Anyways, since it was the other persons fault, that persons insurance is going to cover the damage. But our insurance was due to be canceled today due to non-payment. We have the money today to pay it but since my husband cannot get to the bank before they close. He picked up his check today, but he works until 11 pm. And the nearest bank to where he works is 30 minutes away, so he wont have time. So basically my question is, will there be a problem covering the damage on the car if our insurance gets canceled and we pay it on monday??

car accident hit from behind 3wks ago?

March 13, 2013 in General

About 3 weeks ago my husband was hit from behind by a 17yr old kid during stop and go traffic while driving my car. The kid was driving a beat up old car so and damage to his car – My rear bumper has a 1/2 dollar sized deep gauge out of it. He never called the police or filed an accident report. After the mother of the diver got the 2 price quotes (one from her own recommended place) she freaked out and said i’ll give you 1/2 and that’s what i’ve been advised to do. I called her and freaked out on her over it and she hung up on me. I just filed a claim with my ins. co (esurance) and now i’m waiting to find out what will happen next – . Is there any way they can get out of paying? I have the kids DL#, ins. policy #, home address, phone numbers…. the appraiser is supposed to call tomorrow and come see the damage. I am so pissed off that this happened thru no fault of our own and the mother could be so dishonest in not paying for her son’s accident. What should I do?we are in nj

How much for car accident?

March 8, 2013 in General

I’m trying to get a ballpark figure of about how much I will get for this car accident i had two weeks ago. They declared the other drive at fault (he ran a red light and claimed he didn’t see the light at all..drunks!!) anyways he completely took the front of my car OFF!!! It was horrible. My car is totaled. But i was trying to see about how much i would get for the accident. Like i know his insurance is suppose to give me what my car was worth and then medical bills and pain and suffering i suppose. My car was a 2008 Altma..I looked on Kelly Blue Book and it said that my car is worth $20,645. But i guess i have to get a professional adjuster to get a more accurate number. Anyways so i’ve only been to the ER 2 times since then and i’m in some pretty bad pain but the meds are managing it. Does anyone have a ballpark figure of how much i might get back. Also has anyone ever dealt with Esurance..that was the driver’s insurance company..I have Nationwide and they said they don’t know anything about them yet.

Do I Need a Lawyer for a Maryland Auto Accident Injury?

March 5, 2013 in Banking insurance

www.stronglawfirm.com Many wonder if they should consult a lawyer when injured in an auto accident. In this useful video, Mr. Strong discusses how to determine if you would benefit from having legal representation for a Maryland auto accident injury. Mr. Strong has seen insurance companies take advantage of those who do not have legal representation. This can be a result of not having knowledge of the legal system or having English as a second language. Insurance companies may even try to trick you into making statements that they can use against you later. Either way, it is important to know if you should have representation before settling any claim. Seeing a lawyer is also useful to determine what your rights and options are. At a minimum, you can schedule a free consultation with Mr. Strong. Because of the common question of whether or not to seek the help of a lawyer, Mr. Strong has written a book called Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing. In it, he reveals the steps you should take to decide whether or not to seek legal representation. He stresses that you should be sure of your decision before settling your personal injury case. If you have suffered a Maryland auto accident injury, call 877.344.8189 to speak with Michael Strong. He can help you determine if you do need representation and what options you have. http

Car accident and they got old insurance.?

February 25, 2013 in General

I got in a car accident last November and they tried to hit me with 6 duis with no evidence. We got the FDLC results 6 MONTHS LATER, and it came up with nothing. I have no idea what they had to charge me with 6 DUIs, however… It was reduced to reckless driving.

Anyways, when I got in the accident, I left in an ambulance. The police gave out the wrong car insurance (I had just got statefarm the day before.) They gave like esurance to everyone, which was the WRONG insurance. So, I ended up having to tell the hospitals etc that they gave out the wrong insurance. Then I got a call from one of the people I hit’s insurance, and they queried about what insurance I had (They said the policy they were given expired in like 08.)…

What would happen in America if you were involved in a serious accident?

January 25, 2013 in Insurance jobs and educations

and were gravely injured, needing to be ambulanced or airlifted to hospital immediately,

But you did not have insurance, or the “right type” of insurance, or the cash to pay for it?

In the UK the Emergency Services do a sterling job and in such a situation the person would be taken to hospital by the quickest means possible (ambulance, helicopter etc), there would be no question of ability to pay. But in a country where everything, even emergency ambulance service, is for-profit and privatised, would a poor person experience a delay in life-saving care because of lack of money or insurance?

Car was wrecked in accident but cant receive rental?

January 24, 2013 in General

I was in an accident yesterday, not my fault, other party accepted 100% liability so their insurance company (geico) is paying for damages and car rental. The only thing is my 21 birthday is less than a month away however when i went to go pick up my rental I was unable to because they require anyone under 21 to have collision included on their policy. My personal Esurance policy is only liability. Geico was willing to provide a collision waiver however enterprise could not accept it. All the other car rental policies had similar policies SO WHAT DO I DO? The other suggestion they had was find someone old enough to put me on their policy but I dont even know anyone that could do this especially in time for tomorrow morning as the rental places will be closed until tuesday. Enterprise suggested i temporarily add collision to my policy but thats really expensive (im a college student who pays my own rent, tuition, car, phone etc) I asked geico if i was to do this through my insurance company if they or the person who hit me would cover the cost and they said no. so again WHAT DO I DO???
